The 2014 Chapelle Chambertin Grand Cru has a fragrant, floral bouquet with generous wild strawberry and red cherry aromas that are beautifully defined, almost Vosne-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with kirsch and white pepper on the entry, spicy in the mouth and succulent though without quite delivering the requisite complexity on the finish. Not bad, but I am more taken with the nose than the palate at the moment.
