Expressive and quite elegant for the year; silky tannins build slowly on a very long, floral-dominated finish.

(raised in 30 percent new oak) Youthful purple. Ripe dark berries, candied flowers and cracked pepper on the fragrant, oak-spiced nose. Broad and fleshy on entry and then tighter and more energetic in the midpalate, offering juicy cherry and boysenberry flavors that pick up vanilla and floral nuances with air. Rich yet energetic in style, displaying strong closing thrust and smooth, slow-building tannins that add shape and gentle grip.
