The 1997 Barolo is a medium-bodied, supple-textured wine with plenty of dried herbs, coffee, and cherry syrup notes. Drink this accessible Barolo during the first decade of the next century. Importer: Franklin Selections, Annapolis Junction, MD; tel. (410) 880-4790

Good medium red. Aromas of roasted plum and animal fur. Smooth, lush and sweet; softer and less powerful than the '96 but has plenty of chewy material. In fact, this is rather elegantly styled, not to mention easy to understand and drink. Showing well considering that it was bottled just a few weeks ago.
