Score 88/100 · Drink 1990-2005, Robert Parker, Jan 1998
This is a fleshy, full-bodied wine with an impressive deep ruby color. The high tannins should permit the wine to age well for at least 12-15 years. The bouquet has a sweet, plummy fruitiness, with a very pronounced mineral, tobacco character. It is medium bodied, with good richness. This wine could well merit a higher score once the tannins soften. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted, 3/90.
