Tasting notes
(from Mazoyères-Chambertin; a majority of these vines were planted in 1920): Moderately saturated medium red. Very deep nose combines ripe raspberry, spices and sexy soil tones. Very rich, fat and ripe, conveying a liqueur-like quality to its red fruit flavors. Concentrated, broad wine with lovely balancing acidity to leaven its fruit sweetness. Finishes with serious tannic grip but no dryness. Really saturates the palate on the broad, long finish. (Incidentally, Duband purchased half of this parcel two years ago and is beginning to replant it.)
