Score 85/100 · Drink 2021-2022, Neal Martin, May 2021
The 1975 Grand Mayne has modest bricking on the rim, quite bright in hue. It has a lovely bouquet, not intense or complex, but harmonious with irony red fruit, cedar and undergrowth. The palate does not match the aromatics unfortunately. The fruit has receded leaving a rather astringent Saint-Émilion that tapers dramatically towards the dry finish. Bottles should be consumed in the near future. Tasted at the Grand Mayne vertical at the property.

Grand Mayne
The Nony family has been at the helm of this 17-hectare estate for three generations, since the 1930s, but it’s under Jean-Antoine – in charge since 2015 – that quality here has soared.
