The 2020 Lestage Simon has a bright nose with blackberry, bilberry, light estuarine scents, a touch of graphite. I like how this builds in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, maybe just missing some of the depth and grip that I was hoping, yet tensile with a spicy and persistent finish. Very fine.

The 2020 Lestage Simon is terrific. Soft and fruity, with gorgeous aromatic presence, the 2020 is a complete, impeccably balanced wine. Crushed flowers, herbs, spice and pipe tobacco add tons of character. A closing burst of red/purplish fruit punctuates the finish.
Good quality, perky fruits, a little austere but has character and typicity. Black fruits, liqourice and creme de cassis. There are more hits than misses in this vintage in the Médoc, and this is one to enjoy. Located in St Seurnin de Cadourne.
From a vineyard located in Saint Seurnin de Cadourne, this has savoury Médoc character, blueberry and blackcurrant fruit, a little subdued but shows charm, and is a good example of how you can find plenty of drinkable, understated Cru Bourgeois in the 2020 vintage.
