Tasting notes
Treiso. Tasted blind. Mid ruby. Compact, brooding, perfumed sour-cherry nose with a hint of fruit cake. Sappy, yet luscious cherry fruit and an elegant, medium-weight palate. Juicy acidity and subtle chewy tannins. Quite irresistible. (WS)

Fresh and floral on the nose with freshly picked roses and vivd, ripe strawberries. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a vivid, racy finish. Shows tension and focus for this ripe vintage. Drink in 2023 and onwards.
This is a beautiful creation from a vintage that threw quite a few challenges at vintners elsewhere in Italy and here in Piedmont. The Ceretto 2017 Barbaresco Bernadot plays up its elegance and its graceful personality. With fruit from an organic and biodynamic 4.8-hectare site in Treiso, planted high at 400 meters above sea, this pretty Barbaresco reveals very specific aromas of wild berry, light spice, licorice and iron rust. These aromas are essential components of the classic Nebbiolo playlist, as is the lightweight, silky texture of this wine. The Bernadot is natural and effortless (aged in mostly neutral oak).
The 2017 Barbaresco Bernardot is dark, spiced and so expressive. Sumptuous and inviting, the Bernardot captures so much of what makes the best 2017 Barbarescos so appealing. Readers will find a racy, supple Barbaresco that will drink well right out of the gate.
