Score 84/100 · Drink 1990-1996, Robert Parker, Jan 1998
The 1986 has good tannins, but the overall impression is one of softness and supple, silky fruit. I prefer the 1985, but the 1986 merits attention if you admire a lighter-weight Pomerol that requires drinking over the next 5-6 years. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 3/90.
