Tasting notes
Aromas of raspberries, cherries, sweet spices, raw cocoa and peonies preface the 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Clos de l'Écu Monopole, a medium to full-bodied, concentrated and vibrant wine with tangy acids, melting tannins and a long, saline finish. This is very promising.

The 2020 Beaune Clos de l’Ecu 1er Cru, raised in 50% new oak, has a gentle nose with brambly red berry fruit with light floral scents. It needs a little more vigour. The palate is medium-bodied with a lightly peppered entry, though there is no whole bunch here, quite fresh and "prickly" on the finish. Fine.
About the producer

Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s most important wine producers. The family-owned estate, now in the hands of the seventh generation, is one of the largest in the region, with significant holdings in both the Côte d’Or and the Côte Chalonnaise.
