Tasted blind. Deep ruby colour. Lightly rubbery, sweet black fruit. An edge of confection. Touch of the New World about the fruit. Brisk acid through the middle, yet some tarry excess. The tannins are not aggressive, but they do have an angular quality that marks and dries out the finish. (TP)

The 2017 d'Aiguilhe has turned out well. Bright floral and blood orange overtones give the 2017 terrific vibrancy to complement the sweet red/purplish berry fruit. Medium in body, fresh and nuanced, the 2017 has a lot to offer in a slightly more restrained style than is the norm for so many wines in this vintage. I very much like the sense of energy. The 2017 is best enjoyed over the next few years, while the fruit is juicy and before underlying vegetal notes become more pronounced.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 d'Aiguilhe features notions of baked plums, black cherries and mulberries with hints of underbrush, bouquet garni and tobacco with a waft of cast-iron pan. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is coated with expressive black fruit layers and loads of earthy suggestions, framed by fine-grained tannins, finishing long and refreshing.

The 2017 d’Aiguilhe has a pretty bouquet with raspberry coulis and wild strawberry aromas, touches of marmalade and _sous-bois _in the background. The palate is smooth and rounded. An easygoing and (for the vintage) quite generous d’Aiguilhe that just lacks a bit of body towards the finish.
