Score 85/100 · Drink 2018-2021, Neal Martin, Jan 2019

The 2017 Bourgogne Rouge, which was bottled in August, comes mostly from Volnay and Pommard. Matured 40% in barrel and 60% in vat, 100% de-stemmed, it has a light red cherry and slightly green bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with light but firm tannin. Ready-to-go, as they say, with an unassuming but pleasurable, lightly spiced finish.
