Tasting notes
Brilliant ruby. Smoke-accented aromas of red and dark berries, licorice and candied flowers, along with a hint of garrigue . Gently sweet and broad on the palate, offering jammy black raspberry and cherry flavors that turn spicier with air. Supple tannins frame a nicely persistent finish that echoes the cherry and garrigue notes.

Based on a blend of 58% Grenache, 22% Syrah, and 20% Mourvèdre, the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape reveals a translucent ruby hue as well as a beautiful nose of sweet red fruits (ripe cherries and strawberries), flowery incense, and Provençal spices to go with a medium-bodied, seamless style on the palate. It’s not a blockbuster, playing in the supple, elegant style of the vintage, but I love its balance, and it’s going to offer plenty of pleasure over the coming 10-12 years.
The 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape features scents of caramelized cherries with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. It's medium to full-bodied, lush and seductive, with a silky, enveloping mouthfeel and a gentle, lingering finish. A touch more complexity and this would be outstanding, but it's still hugely enjoyable as is.
