Inky ruby. Vibrant cherry and black raspberry aromas are complemented by smoky minerals and suave floral pastille and spicecake qualities. Concentrated red fruit flavors are sappy and focused, with hints of cola and licorice adding depth. Silky, smoky and broad on the strikingly long, incisive finish, which features gentle tannins and lingering floral and mineral qualities.

Showing even better from bottle than barrel, the 2012 Côte Rôtie La Landonne is a fabulous effort that oozes notions of cassis, black raspberry, violet, incense and spice-box. Medium to full-bodied, with a gorgeous mid-palate and building, fine tannin, enjoy this ripe, layered, textured beauty over the coming 10-15 years. Made from 100% Syrah aged in new barrels, it’s gorgeous.
Scented oak aromas, with silky and smooth but powerful tannins on the palate. Really refined and feathered on the palate. Not much complexity yet, but plenty of potential – layered and dense. (RH)
Vivid purple. A hugely perfumed bouquet evokes smoky blackberry, blueberry, potpourri and cola. Seamless and sweet, offering energetic dark berry and licorice flavors and an exotic floral pastille quality. Gains richness with air and finishes very long, with lingering sweetness, floral character and smooth tannins. Powerful but balanced and lively, even elegant.
