Score 87-89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Dec 2016
(mostly purchased grapes from Brochon; 20% estate fruit): Good dark red. Restrained black cherry and licorice aromas are lifted by a violet note. Juicy and a bit lean, showing more herbal greenness than the Côte de Nuits-Villages. In a more muscular, less harmonious style, in need of more sweetness and personality. Tough going today but not short.
