Bright medium red. Reticent aromas of cherry, redcurrant, pepper and licorice. A supple if somewhat brooding village wine with strong herb and licorice notes to go with its cherry and dark berry fruit flavors. A step up from the Marsannay in mid-palate stuffing, with the wine's dusty tannins more successfully buffered on the back end. A bit more finishing sweetness here as well, along with good grip.

(Jadot has about 170 barrels of this juice): Medium red. Attractive light touch to the aromas of raspberry and rose petal. Nicely combines sweetness and juiciness, with the red berry and floral flavors complicated by a saline nuance. The tannins are fine-grained and firm and the finish subtly persistent and suave. Barnier vinifies a good portion of this cuvée , but it also includes some purchased wine.
The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a straightforward, slightly rustic but charming bouquet with cranberry leaf and crushed strawberry. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin and moderate complexity, but again feels a little raw on the finish at the moment. Hopefully it will develop more flesh by the time of bottling.

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
