Coppery garnet. Smoked meat, dried fruit, bracken and dark chocolate. Still alive, but certainly in its dotage. The primary fruit has long gone, yet what remains only just retains balance and freshness. (RH)

Slightly woody nose. Quite rich and relatively ripe on the palate but not charming. Jagged at the moment with a hard finish. (JR)
