Tasting notes
The Tenute Silvio Nardi 2020 Rosso di Montalcino is redolent of cherry, candied lilac and crushed aspirin or white stone. There is dried oregano or Mediterranean herb in this 27,000-bottle release. The wine reveals a very clean and concise personality that is perfectly suited as an easy-drinking Tuscan to drink with your favorite trattoria dishes.

The 2020 Rosso di Montalcino from Silvio Nardi lifts up with a seductive display of crushed raspberries dusted with confectioners’ spices, giving way to violets and lavender. It’s silky in texture and fleshy in feel, with potent currant and licorice tones that saturate the palate. Residual acids maintain a juicy and lively impression, as hints of fine tannin tug at the cheeks, leaving a note of hard red candies to linger. Not only is this beautiful today, but I expect it will also improve over the next few years of cellaring.
