Score 93-94/100 · Drink 2024-2050, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Aug 2020
The 2019 Maximin Grünhaus Abtsberg Riesling Auslese is super clear, precise and flinty on the deep, thrilling and stony rather than fruity nose. Lush and round on the palate, this is a sweet and piquant but digestible Auslese with the creamy texture of the Abtsberg in 2019, but it also has very fine acidity that leads to a piquant, precise, well-structured and salty finish. Good length. Tasted as a sample in April 2020.

TA 7.5 g/l, RS 105 g/l. Restrained but intriguing nose. Massive palate hit of refined sweetness with passion fruit and so clean and fresh. This just resonates. So long. (JR)
