The Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno 2015 Barolo reveals a veil of smoke, tar or exotic spice that gives this wine a sultry or brooding personality. Those characteristics are very much in line with the hot and sunny 2015 vintage that brings out extra depth and dark fruit, especially in a delicate and moody grape such as Nebbiolo. You feel some loose texture on the tannins, but they are ripe, making this Barolo ready to drink straight out of the gate.
