Score 88/100 · Drink 2019-2027, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2019
Brezza's 2015 Barolo opens with beguiling aromatics that show why Nebbiolo is such a captivating variety. Incense, sweet tobacco, dried cherry, mint and anise are all inviting in the glass. Pliant and deep, with plenty of supporting structure, the 2015 is a terrific wine in its peer group. Readers should expect a somewhat rustic, burly Barolo with a good deal of character. The 2015 is not especially refined, but it is a good wine in its peer group. The blend of sites - San Lorenzo, Fossati, Ravera and Bricco San Pietro - works well here.
