Tasting notes
Monforte d'Alba. Lustrous and just mid ruby. Serious, complex minerally nose with hints of dark earth and shoe polish. Perfumed marasca-cherry fruit with polished tannins. More open on the palate than the nose. Very long and focused. (WS)

The Conterno Fantino 2018 Barolo Castelletto Vigna Pressenda is dense and tight, especially at this early phase in its life. This wine promises good things to those who wait, and it shows both the freshness and the structure to go the long haul. I love the sharp and extremely focused personality of Vigna Pressenda. Dark fruit and rose are backed by etched mineral and sensations of iron ore. This wine is a true beauty. 6,616 bottles were produced.
The 2018 Barolo Castelletto Vigna Pressenda is a very pretty, aromatic wine redolent of floral and savory notes. Dried cherry, blood orange, mint, sage and licorice are all beautifully lifted. This elegant, translucent Monforte Barolo has to much so offer. The 2018 is all class. Time brings out dimension and breadth to round things out.
