Tasting notes
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Del Rio Vineyard comes from a site in the Alexander Valley and is 100% varietal, aged 22 months in new oak. Sporting a deep purple hue as well as a gorgeous nose of pure crème de cassis, lead pencil, chocolate, and white flowers, this beauty is flawlessly balanced and medium to full-bodied, with classic Sonoma minerality and a great, great finish. It's just a complex, rich, yet elegant Cabernet that does everything right. Drink bottles any time over the coming 20-25 years.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Del Rio Vineyard has an opaque ruby-purple color and notable purity on the nose. Morello cherries and spiced plums are accented by notes of milk chocolate, mint leaves, star anise and graphite. The full-bodied palate is powerful and fresh with intense, spicy fruits laced with mineral character and still fairly youthfully wound. Allow it time to improve in bottle over the next 3-5 years and then enjoy it over the next 15-20+ years. 450 cases were made.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Del Rio is packed with inky dark fruit, chocolate, new leather, spice and blackberry jam. This is an especially unctuous style that stands out in this range. The Del Rio will appeal most to readers who enjoy opulent, flamboyant Cabernets.
