The 2018 Barbaresco from Castello di Verduno is a very pretty, gracious wine with effusive aromatics, bright fruit and mid-weight structure. In other words, classic Barbaresco. Time in the glass brings out hints of sweet tobacco, mint, cedar and dried red cherry. The 2018 is such a gorgeous wine. Drink it over the next decade.

Translucent orangey red. Herbal red fruits and sweet spice with a nice dusty/mineral quality, orange citrus too. Openly aromatic. Taut with flavours of orange-skinned plum, skin-tight tannins and excellent freshness. A little severe but likely to be elegant in a few years. (JH)

The 2018 Barbaresco from Castello di Verduno is a delightful wine to drink now and over the next decade or so. Sweet red berry fruit, rose petal, mint and cinnamon are all nicely lifted. Fresh, fruit and wonderfully alluring, the 2018 offers tons of immediacy and pure pleasure.
