Tasting notes
With only two barrels and one feuillette (132-litre barrel) produced, this Charmes-Chambertin is impressive. Bright ruby in colour, the wine offers aromas of blackcurrant and redcurrant, with a gentle note of crushed raspberries. The palate is pretty full-bodied, with powerful, velvety tannins and an excellent nerve of acidity driving the wine. There’s more red fruit, with freshness and purity. Its mouth-watering texture leads to an excellent long finish dominated by crunchy red berries and sweet pastry. Beautiful wine.

About the producer

Nicolas Potel is one of Burgundy’s most talented and connected winemakers. He created Maison Roche de Bellene, the négoce arm of Domaine de Bellene, in 2008, using his extensive network in the region to source top-quality fruit for an "haute couture" négociant operation.
