Tasting notes
Made from fully destemmed grapes, the 2021 Saint-Joseph Silice is going through a reductive phase. A few minutes of aeration gradually reveals shy red fruits paired with leafy gradations. Culminating in a slightly metallic finish, it should be consumed over the next two years.

Complex nose of black pepper, fresh sage and thyme with restrained wild blackberry fruit. Still tightly wound but with intense stony minerality, this is an exciting wine for the challenging vintage. Long very straight, clean finish. Drink or hold.
The 2021 Saint Joseph Silice is also beautiful, with a round, supple, layered style that shines in the vintage. Black raspberries, spice box, dried flowers, and hints of violets give way to a medium-bodied, up-front, charming, layered 2021 that certainly stands out in the vintage.
100% Marsanne. Fermented in stainless steel with malolactic conversion completed. Tasted blind. Grilled nuts, smoke and gunflint nose. The palate has broad shoulders with ripe fruits, a textured mid palate and just a hint of smoke. Attractive and interesting – drinking well already. (AC)
