Tasting notes
Discreet black plum fruit on the nose, light peppery note, soft tannins. The fruit is a little baked and crude, and the spiciness is retreating as a result. (RH)

Crafted from fully destemmed grapes, the elegant and polished 2020 Saint-Joseph totally delivers. Violets, black cherry, raspberry and discrete cedar usher in. Ripe tannins structure this medium-bodied and concentrated Saint-Joseph that maintains its elegant profile right through to the refined finale.
Moving to the two 2020s, the 2020 Saint Joseph is a beauty. Deep purple-hued, with a great nose of framboise, darker cherries, spice, woodsmoke, and lite gunpowder, it's medium-bodied, ripe, and textured, with some classic Northern Rhône game and bacon fat notes emerging with time in the glass. Drink bottles over the coming decade.
Saturated magenta. Displays vibrant, mineral-accented black raspberry, cherry and floral scents that are complemented by suggestions of candied flowers and spicecake. Juicy and energetic on the palate, offering appealingly sweet red and blue fruit flavors that deepen and turn spicier as the wine opens up. Shows fine clarity and spicy cut on the persistent finish, which features subtle tannins a touch of smokiness.
