Tasting notes
The 2019 La Chapelle de Haut Bages Libéral has a joyous, vibrant bouquet of blackberry and cedar fruit and fragrant touches of iris petal, though naturally not as complex as the Grand Vin. The palate is medium-bodied with graphite-infused black fruit on the entry. Finely balanced, albeit displaying a touch of warmth on the finish, this Deuxième Vin should give several years of drinking pleasure.

The 2019 La Chapelle de Haut-Bages Libéral is bright, sculpted and super-transparent. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, spice and rose petal are nicely lifted. The 2019 was aged 60% in barrel and 40% in cement eggs, which gives the wine freshness and cut. La Chapelle is atypical for Pauillac, but very pretty and compelling just the same.
Cherry red in colour, this is supple, gourmet, easy to drink. Showcases an approachable style of Pauillac without sacrificing the savoury Cabernet Sauvignon black fruit character. 40% made in cement eggs, the rest in barrel, with 15% new oak.
