Score 89/100 · Drink 2022-2027, Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, Aug 2022
The 2020 Sancerre Vieilles Vignes is a lightly savory wine that offers a sense of welcome and richness. Hailing from vines that are more than 40-years-old, around 40% of the wine is fermented in large barrels. It has lees-derived characters, peach and even a hint of raspberry. The finish is textural, offering a lightly grippy coating and ripe acidity. A little more acidity would get it over the line.
