Tasting notes
See-through crimson. Sweet yet fresh on the nose. MUCH less concentrated than almost all its peers. Dry finish. Very appetising even if without a really complex undertow. Nicely composed. Just very slightly simple but extremely well judged and not at all skinny. (JR)

Composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, and a small proportion of Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum shows off layers of savory herbs, black cherry, and menthol. The palate is well-integrated and finessed, with notes of currants, fresh tobacco and turned earth. Drink 2023-2036.
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum, blended with 25% Cabernet Franc, offers pure aromas of red cherries, blackcurrants, dried thyme, cedar, tobacco leaves and rose petals. The full-bodied palate blossoms with layer after layer of nuanced fruit. It has a seamless structure, with lacy tannins, integrated yet persistent freshness and a tremendously long finish. 430 cases were made.
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum is a deep, potent wine. A rush of inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, new leather and cloves makes a strong first impression. Deep and massively constituted, the Annum is a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next decade or more.
