Score 88/100 · Drink 2015-2017, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Apr 2015
Produced exclusively with Tempranillo grapes, and to be approachable by a wide audience, the 2011 200 Monges fermented in oak vats and matured for ten months in French and American oak barrels in equal parts. This is by far the freshest of all reds I tasted, with well integrated oak and showy, flowery aromas like cranberry and blackcurrant juice. The palate is medium-bodied with astringent and bitter tannins where you see the effect of the wood. 24,000 bottles were produced.
