Score 86-87/100 · Drink 2004-2015, Robert Parker, Apr 1999
Although this wine is well-made, the austere finish and dry, hard tannin are troublesome. The wine's dark ruby/purple color is accompanied by sweet black currant fruit aromas. There is a good attack and a medium-bodied, concentrated mid-palate, but the wine is angular and rustic. Only time will reveal the direction in which this wine is going. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2015.
