Mid garnet. Sweet and deliciously mature 'decay' of the fruit on the nose, giving a complex aroma but still some red fruit. A little chalky/dusty on the palate, with lovely freshness and a gentle herbaceousness. À point . (JH)

Falling under the guidance of the Stéphane Derenocourt team, the 2014 Château Edmu is a pretty, red fruit driven Saint-Emilion that offers lots of spice, leafy herbs, and sandy/loamy soil aromatics, medium-bodied richness, and a Burgundian, elegant, seamless texture. It’s a joy to drink and will keep for 15+ years.

Dark cherry, plum, mocha, spice and new leather are nicely pushed forward in the 2014 Edmus. The 15 % Cabernet Franc in the blend gives the wine its distinctive aromatic signatures and tannin profile. I would prefer to drink this expressive, inviting Saint-Émilion over the next decade or so.

The 2014 Edmus is supple and voluptuous in the glass, with succulent fruit and superb delineation. Hints of mocha, tobacco, new French oak, sweet herbs and mint add further shades of nuance in a super-expressive, open-knit St.-Emilion that should drink well young. The blend is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. Frédéric Massie and Romain Bocchio are the consulting winemakers.
