Tasting notes
The 2016 The Fimasaurus is every bit as impressive as it was last year. In 2016, Fimasaurus is incredibly harmonious and polished, with superb textural richness throughout. Espresso, licorice, dark spice, cedar and leather are some of the many notes that build in this super-expressive and seductive wine from the Kongsgaards.

Comprised of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon co-fermented, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 The Fimasaurus gives up notes of crushed blackcurrants, red and black plums and kirsch with hints of tilled soil, lilacs, forest floor and spice box. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with fragrant red and black fruit layers and a velvety frame, finishing long and layered.
The 2016 The Fimasaurus is endowed with magnificent aromatic intensity, depth and a distinctly vertical sense of structure. The 2016 is going to need time to fill out its many layers of flavor and texture. The 2016 was racked about a month before this tasting. It may very well turn out to be even better than this note suggests.
