Tasting notes
Deep, vivid scarlet. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red berries, potpourri, vanilla and mocha, and a smoky mineral note builds as the wine opens up. Velvety and broad on the palate, offering appealingly sweet, spice-tinged black raspberry, cherry cola and floral pastille flavors, with licorice flourishes. Concentrated but graceful as well, showing solid finishing thrust, repeating florality and gently chewy tannins on the impressively long finish.

Proper Pinot on the nose. Firm and fine with real ambition and a future. There is something ferny about this! Fragrant and subtle but with good drive. (JR)
