Score 84/100 · Robert Parker, Jan 1997
Certainly better than the 1980 red Hermitage, this medium-bodied wine shows a ripe, complex bouquet of tropical fruit and smoky nuts and herbs. On the palate, it is fresh, soft, and fully ready to drink. It will not keep. Last tasted 6/86.
