The Domaine Virginie Thunévin, the vineyard which belongs to Jean-Luc’s daughter, has a pleasing blackberry and cassis-scented nose, simple but nicely integrated with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, ever so slightly dry tannin that renders the finish rather conservative and foursquare. However, even at this early juncture you can appreciate the balance and length. This is a satisfactory Bordeaux Rouge to enjoy over several years.
