Tasting notes
Lovely fruit ripeness and purity. High, fine tannins on the palate which really stick on the finish. A bit of smoky character adding complexity to the length. Stylish. (RH)

The 2013 3 de Valandraud bursts from the glass with an exciting melange of raspberry jam, wild flowers and spices. All the elements take shape nicely in a wine long on energy and focus. The 2013 is sumptuous and fruit-driven, but obviously with less structure than is found in the top Valandraud reds This is a solid showing from Valandraud's third wine.
About the producer

One of the first garage wines, Ch. Valandraud was created by Jean-Luc Thunevin – Saint-Emilion’s “bad boy”. Today the style of the wine is much more restrained, and officially classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé B estate.
