The 2019 Millery is at once dense and richly textured, but also with the underlying energy and reserve that is such a signature of this tiny north-facing vineyard on clay/gravel soils in the Saint Christophe des Bardes sector of Saint-Émilion. Red/purplish berry fruit, lavender, rose petal, spice and mint are some of the nuances that develop with time in the glass. The interplay of fruit depth and classic structure is hugely appealing. Millery remains one of the most under the radar wines in all of Bordeaux.

One of the under the radar gems of Bordeaux, the 2019 Millery is stratospheric. Inky, rich and vibrant, the 2019 captures the natural intensity of the year while retaining the freshness that is typical of this north-facing site of clay/gravel in the Saint Christophe des Bardes sector of Saint-Émilion. In 2019, Millery is an exotic wine that captures both the high ripeness and high acids of the year. The 2019 saw 2-3 days of cold soak followed by 2-3 weeks of cuvaison, and malolactic fermentation in barrel. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, while new oak is 70%. Millery, the Manoncourt family's 'other' Saint-Émilion, has come on strong over the last few years and is now one of the appellation's most distinctive wines. Figeac Estate Manager Frédéric Faye and consulting oenologist Thomas Duclos oversee the tiny production of just around 3,000 bottles.
