The 2017 Bouzeron, which is around 30% raised in used barrels, has a fresh, slightly minty bouquet that is well defined. I admire the intensity of this Côte Chalonnaise. The palate is well balanced, offering lime and citrus peel on the entry. The acidity is well judged and conveys a sense of brightness and lucidity toward the finish. This is a thoroughly enjoyable Bouzeron that probably represents a great value.

The 2017 Bouzeron (Domaine Gagey) is attractive, displaying aromas of crisp green apple, citrus zest and a judicious touch of oak, followed by a medium-bodied palate with juicy acids, a succulent core of fruit and a chalky finish. It's a very creditable example of the appellation.
