Score 90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2005

Leesy aromas of soft citrus fruits, butter and hazelnut. Round, smoky and leesy, with an attractive subtle sweetness of fruit. Not especially gripping but offers lovely restraint and very good persistence.

The 2003 Chardonnay Mays Canyon exhibits restrained lemon butter, pear, citrus, and crushed rock characteristics along with fine acidity and a medium-bodied finish. It should drink well for 3-4 years. (Price not yet determined) Tel. (707) 823-9586; Fax (707) 823-9589
