Score 92/100 · Drink 2013-2023, Robert Parker, Jun 2013
The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Coliseum Block (14.5% alcohol) is a big, lusty, exuberant style of Cabernet with plenty of fruit, glycerin and extract, but it doesn’t seem to miss a beat in terms of its balance and length. Made by proprietor Mark Carter and the legend from the 1970s, the irrepressible Nils Venge, this beautiful 2003 offers nicely integrated wood, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and plenty of creme de cassis and spice characteristics in a classic Napa style that is hard to resist. Reasonably mature, it is capable of lasting another decade or more. Tel. and Fax (707) 445-0311
