Tasting notes
75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Mid ruby. Caramel and dried strawberries on the nose. Cherry cola and cinnamon make for a sweet, warming profile to this wine. There is heat on the finish as the body and texture of this wine do not match the ambitious nature of the fruit. A little disjointed. (TP)

The 2021 Château La Couspaude is good, with darker cherry fruits, some herbal, chocolaty notes, medium-bodied richness, and firm yet not dry tannins.
75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Cask sample. Quite forward aromatically, red-berry fragrance with a leafy edge. Palate a little edgy, the fruit light and with a herbaceous edge. Acidity marked on the finish which gives the wine an astringent edge. (JL)
A pure blackberry pastille and blackcurrant puree nose, with sweetness and poise. The aromatics don't follow through on the palate, and the flavours lose focus a little, with touches of earthy forest floor. It has grip and appeal, for medium term drinking. 30 hl/h yield.
