Tasting notes
The 2017 Zinfandel Whitney Tennessee is deep, pliant and super-expressive. Sweet tobacco, cedar, mint and licorice give the 2017 lovely shades of aromatic nuance. Although it is beautifully layered and deep, my impression is that the 2017 is holding back much of its potential. This is such a pretty wine. Bright red-toned fruit and floral notes perk up the finish.

The 2017 Zinfandel Whitney Tennessee Vineyard is medium to deep ruby-purple with a wonderfully broody nose of aniseed, black peppercorn, dried lilac and smoked meats over a dense core of lush, ripe black fruits with blue fruit hints. Medium to full-bodied with fantastic intensity of spicy black fruits and savory nuances, it's framed by very fine, grainy tannins and juicy acidity to lift the long, very spicy finish. 200 cases produced.
The 2017 Zinfandel Whitney Tennessee is one of the more understated wines in this range. Subtle, perfumed and silky, the Whitney Tennessee is built more on persistence than volume. Crushed flowers, mint, dried herbs, tobacco are all laced together in this very pretty, nuanced Zinfandel.
