Tasting notes
The 2020 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru leans towards a more reductive style on the nose with grilled walnut and light wax resin scents, gaining complexity as it unfurls in the glass. It doesn't possess the energy of Comte Lafon's Genevrières. The palate is forward and rich on the entry, slightly honeyed in texture with lower acidity, powerful and weighty in the mouth. After 20 minutes in the glass, it really delivers the complexity one expects from this climat. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Following hard on the heels of the Charmes, the 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières is also excellent, delivering aromas of pear, green apple, freshly baked bread, almonds and mint, framed by light reduction. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless, it's suave and elegant, with excellent depth at the core, tangy acids and a long, precise finish.
