Tasting notes
The 2020 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is another young, powerful wine that has a primordial, unevolved style. Loaded with ripe blue fruits as well as sappy flower notes, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a round, opulent mouthfeel, and a great finish. This calms down with air and has solid underlying acidity and tannins, but again, it needs to be hidden in the cellar for 3-4 years at a minimum.

Cask sample. Deep ruby; rich and deeply raspberry-coulis flavoured, with a velvet consistency. Fresh acidity and a veil of tannins. Great and impressive length. (MH)
