Tasting notes
70 ares (1.7 acres) of 55-year-old vines, facing south-east. Kimmeridgian clay dominates. Organically farmed. Taking Chablis south, with its volume and a touch of peach added to classic green apple and citrus. Real volume. Mature, tasty fruit, ably supported by some butter and oak. Quite Côte d’Or-like, in fact. (MH)

The 2020 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru has a well-defined nose, citrus fruit mixed with pear, wet limestone and green apples, tight at first but responds to aeration. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, taut and fresh with a lovely, lip-smacking salinity that fires up the finish. Excellent.
The 2020 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru came from a sample taken directly from vat, and the nose was too primal to read. The palate is fresh and evidences fine concentration, displaying lovely pear and peach notes toward the harmonious finish. I suspect this will come around nicely once in bottle.
