The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Embrazées 1er Cru has a more floral bouquet. Wilted white flowers complement the slightly honeyed fruit, yet the mineralité prevails and is accentuated with time in the glass. The palate is nicely balanced with lime, citrus peel and hazelnut notes. A very slight oxidation actually imparts complexity towards the finish. This is a complex Chassagne-Montrachet that should age well in bottle. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Solid and serious. Pretty unformed. Still a little chewy. Needs lots of time. (JR)
