Score 87/100 · Drink 2016-2019, Robert Parker, Oct 2016

Eisele continues to produce a white wine. The 2014 Sauvignon Blanc, which has a lot of the exotic Musqué clone of Sauvignon, exhibits notes of honeysuckle, white peach, caramelized grapefruit and a hint of nectarine. This wine spent nine months in barrel prior to being bottled and tends to come from the most clay-dominated soils of the property. Drink this medium-bodied wine over the next several years.

A new more precise and lively style for the white here compared to the past. This is extremely aromatic with sliced apple, peach, pear and mineral aromas. Full to medium body, bright acidity. Very energetic. Creamy texture. A saltiness comes through. Some phenolic tension too. This is aged a year on less in oak barrels and only 15% new. (JS)
