Score 97-100/100 · Robert Parker, Oct 2004
The limited production (100 cases) cuvee of 2003 Shiraz Johan Georg is a remarkable effort cropped at 1 ton of fruit per acre (129-year-old vines), and aged primarily in new American and French oak, its inky/blue/purple color is accompanied by classic scents of graphite, acacia flower, roasted meat, blackberry, and creme de cassis notes. This is a full-bodied, fabulously endowed, potentially legendary Shiraz. Importer: Dan Philips, The Grateful Palate, Oxnard, CA; tel. (888) 472-5283
